Modern medicine is broken. A typical doctor visit in the U.S. is scheduled for 10 minutes, and only 4 of those minutes are spent with the provider. In those few minutes, they recommend more pills without truly listening to you and your unique story, which you’ve told to a technician or assistant. In this model, also known as "factory line medicine", doctors see 20 to 30 patients per day, and patients are frustrated and receive poor quality care. That model focuses on disease and pills. In this intense pressure cooker the provider and patient are both stressed and unfulfilled.
